A few stills from the animation! Tonight is the premiere at TKT’s Academy Award Show.

I’m sure everyone is very curious… Did they manage to make a 3D animation in four days? Unfortunately, no. Two tiny shots still had to be made Saturday, and some scenes weren’t done rendering yet. That means that our Post-guys and Audio-fellow still have some work to do.

But, I must say: It’s absolutely incredible, unbelievable and impressive how far we’ve come in less than four days. With new people to work with, schools closing earlier than planned, and Murphy’s law that will always hunt you when you are on a short time track, we did an awesome job. It looks good, feels right and we are very satisfied with our results so far. Besides watching a 3D animation come to life, we’ve also learned a lot about actually making something like this, working together in a new team, working under a lot of pressure and having fun while doing all of this.

Our final animation will be shown at the Academy Award show, by Saxion. We hope we can enjoy you there for at least 2 minutes This has been a great week for us and a perfect break from the graduating-loneliness. Art & Technology students, this is a really great way to keep in touch with other students, learn from them and have a great time together!

And back to work!! Animate! Render! Composit! Go Go Go!

Day four, the last day of our project. Most of us were here by 07:30, to get an early start. Amazing to see how far we’ve come yesterday, with only a few hours to animate. To give a little credit to the early birds, just starting to wake with a redbull in one hand, and a computermouse in the other, a few pictures of them and there work.

And a cute animation is nothing without a cute introduction. Something Jaimy was assigned to do, with our big fat bumblebee!

Maybe this has given you an idea of where we are right now. And hopefully, we are able to present the final animation to you soon, on this website!

Our main character is now ready to be animated! A short introduction by Frans will tell us how to do this. All the blendshapes work very well which means we can give him almost every expression you can think of.
